What to expect ?
National Museum of Iran is an archaeology museum which is situated in the heart of the capital of Iran, Tehran, including two separate sections: Museum of Ancient Iran, and Museum of Islamic Era.
The building itself, presenting a blend of different styles of architecture, can be fascinating enough to catch the viewers’ eyes.
The museum proudly exhibits the artifacts and objects including pottery, stone statues, ceramics, and many more which were excavated from historical sites such as Persepolis.
Be sure to visit the panels of brick dating back to Achaemenid Era in the Ancient Iran section. The Islamic part houses ancient Islamic and Quranic manuscripts and paintings.
The museum is a must-see both for Iranian and foreign tourists since it is supposed to be the biggest archaeological museum in Iran and is the reference for all the other museums. Visitors can learn about the whole history of ancient Iran and its old dynasties through visiting this comprehensive and worthwhile museum.
