7 Day Iran Cultural Tour

Canter and Northwest of Iran | 4 UNESCO World Heritage, culture and nature

Day 1 – Tehran

Arrival at IKA. Transport to hotel in Tehran, check-in, have a short rest, visit Tabiat Bridge, then Tajrish district and its old bazaar and dinner in Darband where you can feel the fresh air coming from the mountains and taste some delicious Persian food.
Overnight stay in Tehran

Day 2 – Tehran – Qazvin

Sightseeing in Tehran historical part. First of all, we visit the Golestan Palace Complex which is a UNESCO world heritage and the first tallest builing of Tehran once used to be the symbol of Tehran. Then, we pass through the old Grand bazaar. Other places to visit are Treasury of National Jewels (if open*), National Garden Gate, National Museum of Iran and 30Tir st. (aka the food street of Tehran)
Head to Qazvin in the evening and overnight stay in Qazvin.

* Treasury of National Jewels is only open from Saturdays to Tuesdays from 14 to 17.

Day 3 – Qazvin (Alamut)

One-day trip to Alamut Valley known as the valley of assissins. The cult of assassins was established by Hasan-e Sabbah, the ruler of Alamut. In addition to enjoying the spectacular nature of Alamut valley, we visit the castle of assissins and learn more about how they lived and eliminater their enemies.

Overnight stay in Qazvin

Day 4 – Qazvin – Soltaniyeh – Takab

After a half-day sightseeing in Qazvin to visit some monuments remained from Safavid during the time that Qazvin was the capital of Iran, we head to Soltaniyeh to visit Dome of Soltaniyeh which is a UNESCO world heritage and is one of the largest brick domes in the world, and the third largest dome in the world after the domes of Florence Cathedral in Rome and Hagia Sophia in Turkey. Continue to Takab to stay the night.

Day 5 – Takab – Tabriz

On this day, we visit Takht-e Soleymān (Solomon Throne complex), a UNESCO World Heritage, which is the remains of a Zoroastrian fire temple built during the Sassanid period. The legend says that Solomon the prophet used to imprison demons inside a nearby 100 m deep crater which is called “Prison of Solomon”. It is also beleived that it is one of the energy centers on the earth.

Head to Tabriz to stay the night.

Day 6 – Tabriz

Sightseeing in Tabriz: Rocky village of Kandovan (similar to Cappadocia in Turkey), visiting Shahgoli, and Bazaar of Tabriz – one of the oldest bazaars in the Middle East and the largest covered bazaar in the world which is a UNESCO World Heritage.

Overnight stay in Tabriz

Day 7 – Tabriz – Tehran

Depending on your preference or the departure time, we have two options: (1) to come back to Tehran by car which takes around 7 hours non-stop usual traffic, or (2) fly back to Tehran Mehrabad domestic airport and then transfer to IKA to fly back home.
