10 Day Classic Iran Tour

from Modernity to Ancient times

Day 1 – Tehran

Arrival at airport (IKA)
Transport to hotel in Tehran, check-in, have a short rest, visit Tabiat Bridge, then Tajrish district and its bazaar and dinner in Darband where you can feel the fresh air coming from the mountains and taste some delicious Persian food.
Overnight stay in Tehran

Day 2 – Tehran – Kashan

Sightseeing in Tehran historical part. First of all, we visit the Golestan Palace Complex which is a UNESCO world heritage and the first tallest building of Tehran once used to be the symbol of Tehran. Then, we pass through the old Grand bazaar. Other places to visit are Treasury of National Jewels (if open*), National Garden GateNational Museum of Iran and 30Tir St. (aka the food street of Tehran)

* Treasury of National Jewels is only open from Saturdays to Tuesdays from 14 to 17 pm.

Head to Kashan in the evening. Overnight stay in Kashan

Day 3 – Kashan – Isfahan

Visit Fin Garden which is a UNESCO world heritage and a perfect representative of Persian gardens. After that, we visit Tabatabaie Historical Houses which is one of the prominent historic houses of Kashan, together with the Āmeri House, the Borujerdi House, and others. Next stops are Soltan Amir Ahmad Hammam (a traditional Iranian public bathhouse constructed in the 16th century, during the Safavid era) and the old bazaar of Kashan. If we have time, we can also visit the underground city of Noushabaad related to 1500 years ago.

Day 4 – Isfahan

Isfahan city tour: Naqsh-e Jahan Square which is a UNESCO world heritage and was the heart of Safavid capital where Shah mosque and Ali Qapu Palace are located. Chehel Sotun Palace (forty columns) a pavilion in the middle of a park at the far end of a long pool built by Shah Abbas II to be used for his entertainment and receptions. Depending on our time, after lunch, we can visit Vank Church also known the Church of the Saintly Sisters, is a cathedral located in the Armenian quarter of Isfahan known as Jolfa which is still one of the oldest and largest Armenian quarters in the world. Si-o-Se Pol Bridge which is the largest of the eleven historical bridges on the Zayanderud, the largest river of the Iranian Plateau.

Day 5 – Isfahan – Yazd

Head to Yazd and visiting ChakChak fire temple on the way and continue to Yazd – Arrival early evening

Day 6 – Yazd

Sightseeing in Yazd: The Yazd Atash Behram (meaning “Victorious Fire”), also known as Atashkadeh-e Yazd, a Zoroastrian fire temple dated to 470 AD. It is one of the nine Atash Bahrams, the only one of the highest grade fire in ancient Iran; the other eight Atash Bahrams are in India. Zoroastrian ancient cemetery known as Dakhme also known as the ‘Tower of Silence‘, a circular, raised structure built by Zoroastrians for excarnation – that is, for dead bodies to be exposed to carrion birds, usually vultures. Some other visits depending on our time would be Fahadan old neighborhood– Water museumMarkar Clock Tower (center of Iran)

Day 7 – Yazd – Abarkooh

Head to Shiraz and visiting Abarkooh Ancient Cypress Tree on the way to Shiraz.

Day 8 – Abarkooh – Shiraz

Head to Marvdasht in Fars to visit two UNESCO world heritage, namely Pasargadae the first dynastic capital of the Achaemenid Empire, founded by Cyrus II the Great, in Pars, homeland of the Persians, in the 6th century BC, and Persepolis the ceremonial capital of the Achaemenid Empire. We also visit Naqsh-e Rostam which is the necropolis of the Achaemenid dynasty.

Day 9 – Shiraz

Sightseeing in Shiraz: Nasir al-Mulk Mosque known as pink mosque due to the usage of a considerable number of pink-colored tiles for its interior design. Vakil complex (bazaar and bath). Shahcheragh holy shrine, the most important place of pilgrimage within the city of Shiraz. Eram Garden, a historic Persian garden in Shiraz or Narenjestan Garden, a traditional and historical house in Shiraz.

Visiting Tomb of Hafez and its associated memorial hall, the Hāfezieh, are two memorial structures in memory of the celebrated Persian poet Hafez.

Day 10 – Shiraz – Tehran

Depending on your departure time, fly back to Tehran, change the airport and fly back to your country.
