Khabr National Park and Ruchan Wildlife Refuge | The missing paradise of the desert
Khabr National Park is located in Baft city, Kerman province. Being the 11th Natural Park of Iran, Khabr National Park covers an area of 120,000 hectares, of which 50,000 hectares are animal shelters in 5 sections, called Ruchan. The lowest elevation of Khabr Park is 1000 meters and the highest is 3845 meters. Due to the different animals, plants and biological species which are seen in this place, Khabr National Park is one of the most beautiful parks in Iran.
Unique features of Khabr National Park
Known as the Missing paradise of the desert, Khabr National Park has a rich flora (about 759 species) and about 120 endemic species. Being the most important National Park in the south east of the country, this area has three different climates all at once: cold, mild and tropical. Due to its climate variability, it benefits from a great deal of animal and plant biodiversity.
Different biodiversity such as altitudes, large plains and watersheds of this area, are examples which are rarely seen in the country. The diverse climate of this area has led to the growth of two herbaceous species, namely the Iranian Toorani and Omani Gulf. In addition, animals such as goats, wholes, ram, ewes, deer, foxes, dozens of leopards, Golden eagle, partridges and etc… are found in this place.
In conclusion, Khabr National Park and Ruchan Wildlife Refuge is one of the most beautiful and note-worthy areas of Iran. Along with different animals and plants that are found in this area, the natural landscape of Khabr Park is also magnificent.
