What did you think about Iran before coming here? What did you think about Iran before coming here? This is the most common question I hear in Iran. People worried about the wrong stereotypes they have abroad. Political motivations and authorities creating an image that does not reflect the most hospitable and friendly people I have ever met. Stereotypes are weird. They can give you directions and rules of how to behave in a determined culture, but also can keep you away from people you never met. With Iran it is not different. The image of this country around the world seems to be quite wrong, and I am happy to be here showing this mistake to everyone. I've never felt more connected to our beautiful planet in those remote area with no connection with the outside world! This is a picture [pic 1, pic 2] we took in Dasht-e-Lut in Iran. It is a large salt desert where the surface of its sand has been
measured at temperatures as high as 70 'C (159 'F), making it one of the world's driest and hottest places. By @nathalie_wanders #iran collection #IRANinDepth 🇮🇷👉 @iranindepth

The valley is eroded with sedimentary rocks belonging to the third geological Devon. It is highly recommended to go with a local guide and spend the whole day there to see this wonderful, exceptional, scenic canyon. #شیرز

Caro 📸 part 2 Few things in this world can ren Caro 📸 part 2 Few things in this world can render me speecheless, but Iran is most definitely one of them. This trip has been in the works for a few months and it has been hard and oddly stressful to plan. Influenced by the media, my close friends and family excercised gentle, yet firm pressure on me to cancel. To such an extent that I started questioning my own decision. The mounting political tension and the potential threat of war loomed over me like the sword of damoclesas as I filled out my creditcard details and bought a (cheap) flight to Tehran. Next came the planning of the shoots. While the architecture looked amazing, subconsciously my creativity was stumped by the idea of wearing a veil and covering up. "Where in the world does anyone get off telling me what I can and cannot wear" was all I could think about up until the very moment I zipped up Frank, my 70L backpack. Ten minutes before landing in Tehran, all the women in the plane took out their veil and covered up. Yours truly sighed, pulled out her summer scarf and put it on her head. It was too
hot and all I wanted to do was taken off my jacket and this damn thing on my head. "You got this, only two weeks" I reassure myself. I arrived at the house of Nathalie and her family. Despite not speaking a lick of Farsi, I immediately felt welcomed and utterly at ease. Veils came off, hugs were exchanged and food was offered multiple times. These people were the embodiment of warm, loving and hospitable hosts. I felt like I gained a whole bunch of new auties and uncles overnight. Little did I know this was only the start. Within 48h this ostrecicised country moved it's way right up to number one in my little list of fav countries and nestled itself in my heart, veil and all. 🔴 By @veggiewayfarer #iran collection #IRANinDepth 🇮🇷👉 @iranindepth
Caro 📸 part 1 There are seriously no words tha Caro 📸 part 1 There are seriously no words that do justice to the beauty of Iran. It is one of those countries that completely takes you by surprise and never quite leaves your heart. Once you have
experienced the warmth and kindness of the Iranian people, you will forever be looking for a way to get back. The current political situation is bleaker than ever. Sadly I don't posses a glass ball and can't predict what the future holds. I can however be accountable for my own actions. And I will not hold my tongue when I read or hear utter gobwash being spouted about this country and its people and neither should you. Popular media has formed an opinion and its up to us to show them they are wrong. 🔴 By @veggiewayfarer #iran collection #IRANinDepth 🇮🇷👉 @iranindepth
